More than 40 members have approved Barcelona Clúster Nàutic management for this year and the lines of action and budget for the next. One of the most important decisions that have been taken in the General Assembly today has been the renewal of part of the board, for a more entrepreneurial nature and also with the aim of including the female perspective.
During the Assembly, which has been held at the Real Club Nautico de Barcelona and has lasted just over an hour, Toni Tio and Alejo Trullás, president and CEO of Barcelona Clúster Nàutic, have reported on the activities during 2015 and on the lines of action that will take place next year by this association of 71 members.
During his second year, the nautical cluster has carried out an important task of promotion and internationalization, through participation in fairs, congresses and conferences, and through a broad agenda of meetings with key players in the sector. Toni Tio and Alejo Trullás have been very active in participating in European projects and achieved the Bronze certification of the Cluster Management Excellence. This line of action will be enhanced next year, especially through joint actions under the umbrella of the Cluster in international fairs such as Cannes and Monaco.
The training area has received a major boost through the signing of cooperation agreements for employment programs with various institutions and schools. One of the aims for next year is to create a training advisory council to continue promoting the formation of excellence in the marine industry. Similarly, another project refers to financial management courses for members.
In the legal environment, the cluster has worked on issues of VAT, imports and exports and visas in the Schengen area, and some actions should be resumed after the Spanish general election. The drafting of the White Paper of superyachts in Spain, with information on documentation and formalities to be completed, is one of the initiatives for next year.
In the area of business opportunities, Tio and Trullas have highlighted the report on the economic impact of the marine industry in Barcelona, made by the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona. For next year contacts with companies from other sectors to seek synergies and new projects will be encouraged.
As for the internal working of the association, it will continue to work in sectoral committees, which will increase in number, and the services to the members will improve through the private area of the website, especially with regard to the stock job.
