The Barcelona Clúster Nàutic participates in the project “BLUES: BLUe growth connects European Seas”, which is co-funded by the European Commission under Erasmus + Programme – KA2 Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices – Strategic Partnership for Vocational Education and Training.
It is a project for the development of vocational training courses related to the blue economy, and lasts 24 months, which began on October 1, 2017.
The consortium consists of 5 organizations, coming from 5 different European countries (Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Latvia and Spain). The project coordinator is the Municipality of Piraeus, with partners being Enoros Consulting Ltd, Marine Cluster Bulgaria, Latvian Maritime Academy and Barcelona Cluster Nautic.
The overall objective of the project is to promote the development of blue economy in the partner countries, strengthening cooperation between industry and education, to fill the skills gap in this sector and to raise awareness of Blue Careers and tools, via the creation of a dedicated One Stop Shop Portal which also accommodate the e-learning Training Courses of the project.
"We are very pleased to have achieved this project, it is an important step in European cooperation for nautical training, and for the Cluster it means extra funding to develop some of the training activities planned in our program," said the president of the Barcelona Clúster Nàutic, Toni Tió, who attended the kick off meeting in Piraeus, Greece, in December.
